WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) has vehemently criticized the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) recent decision to exclude gas-fired power plants from its carbon emissions rule that applies to coal- and gas-fired power plants.

In a statement released today, Congresswoman Miller expressed her strong opposition to the EPA's actions, stating, "This new guidance from the EPA is nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to destroy the coal industry. The EPA continues to create uncertainty with flawed rule making, resulting in unstable markets and higher energy costs for all Americans."

Furthermore, Congresswoman Miller highlighted her proactive stance on the issue by introducing the Protect Our Power Plants Act alongside Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV). The act aims to overturn the EPA's rule and safeguard all of West Virginia's power plants from what she perceives as excessive regulations on energy production by the EPA.

The Protect Our Power Plants Act seeks to protect the interests of West Virginia's energy sector and combat what Congresswoman Miller sees as harmful policies that could negatively impact the state's economy.
