Congresswoman Carol Miller and Rep. Greg Steube, alongside 58 Republican colleagues, have introduced the Iranian Terror Prevention Act aimed at sanctioning and designating 11 Iranian organizations as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs).

Miller emphasized the importance of the legislation in combating terrorism, stating, "Iran and its proxy organizations continue to terrorize Israel. The United States must stand behind Israelis, God’s chosen people." She criticized President Biden's approach towards supporting Israel, calling it weak and inconsistent.

Steube echoed Miller's sentiments, pointing out Iran's history of using proxy forces to carry out terror activities. He emphasized the need for bold action against terrorist groups, stating, "We must combat terrorism with boldness and strength."

The Iranian Terror Prevention Act targets 11 Iranian groups for designation as FTOs, including names like Abu Fadl al-Abbas Brigades, Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba, and Zainabiyoun Brigade. Additionally, the Act aims to sanction foreign entities affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

A significant number of Republican representatives have joined Miller and Steube in supporting the Act, underscoring the bipartisan effort to address the threat posed by Iranian-backed militias.

The introduction of the Iranian Terror Prevention Act reflects a concerted effort by Congress to confront terrorism and demonstrate unwavering support for allies like Israel in the face of escalating threats.
